We Welcome Flutist Rachel Clakley to the Sound Situation!

Rachel has always loved music and knew in Junior High that she wanted to be a Band Director. She attended Lola High School where she became Captain of the band and received a Division I Superior rating at State in Solo & Ensemble. Rachel’s Academic UIL events at the state level enabled her to receive a scholarship to Blinn College under the instruction of the flutist Marie McElroy. There, she participated in the band and choir and obtained her Associate’s Degree in Music. Afterwards, she attended Sam Houston State University and studied with Kathy Daniel. Rachel began giving flute lessons her senior year of college at Huntsville High School. After graduating from Sam Houston State University this past May Rachel received a job here in Blanco, TX as the Assistant Band Director. “I have a true passion for teaching and would love to teach your child how to play the flute! In my career I teach children of all ages, so whether your child is a beginner or more advanced I would be happy to better their musical skills!”
